How Do I Sort My Socks?

Folded like books in rainbow order of course.  You can laugh with me,  I'm only sort of teasing.  How do you reach for your sock?  How do you wear your socks?  How do you want to find your socks?  Those are the real questions prior to starting to sort them.  

I wear mine at the pair purchased so keeping them sorted as a pair is my preference.  This is a single serve space for me so I can keep my crazy micro sorting systems tucked in a drawer or container and be a happy girl.  That concept would never work for some people though,  example being my son.  

Are they clean? That's about all the matters most days and that's fine.  I had to let him own his own style (organizing and fashion) when it came to sorting socks.  There doesn't seem to be the want or need for him to match or fold his socks.  Whatever is nearest the top of the clean laundry basket is what gets worn. We do tend to by him the same size and style of sock so at least they are similar in that sense but other than that,  macro sorting all the way for his sock organizing success.
